AI-assisted parts search and range optimisation

The right part for the right vehicle. No guesswork.

PartsFinder365 identifies the vehicle from a registration number or VIN, retrieves the matching OE numbers and aftermarket parts from multiple catalogues and shows price and availability in one view. At the same time the platform collects demand data, so stock is sized to the real vehicle parc.

How it works

Four steps that happen in seconds

The user starts a conversation in plain language, for example by giving the registration number and the part needed. The system takes care of the rest.

  1. Understand the request

The AI recognises whether the request is a parts search, service information or vehicle identification, and extracts the registration number, VIN or part name from the message. Colloquial language is understood too.

  2. Identify the vehicle

From the registration number or VIN, exact details are retrieved from official vehicle registers and manufacturer-specific databases: model, engine variant and equipment.

  3. Find and verify the part

Candidate parts are retrieved from several parts catalogues, compared against the vehicle data and scored. Only sufficiently certain matches are shown. When something is ambiguous, the system asks a clarifying question instead of guessing.

  4. Answer clearly

Results are compiled into a clear answer in the user’s language: OE numbers, aftermarket equivalents, price and availability, ready to add to the cart.

Benefits

What PartsFinder365 brings to your business

The platform combines VIN-based vehicle identification, OE number data and AI into a single tool. The result: more accurate sales, a better-targeted stock and a higher margin.

Freed-up capital

Accurate data on actual demand prevents overstocking. Compared to generic classification, up to 2–3 times fewer items are enough.

Growing sales

Up to 99.5% accuracy in VIN→OE identification speeds up sales and removes guesswork. The customer gets the right part on the first try.

Fewer returns

Incorrect orders, return costs and unnecessary work are concretely reduced, straight to the bottom line.

Lightweight implementation

The cloud-based platform integrates with existing systems. No hardware or software investments.

Always up-to-date data

The digital copy of the Finnish vehicle parc updates automatically. No manual maintenance.

An ever sharper demand picture

The more the platform is used, the more accurate the picture of real demand becomes, and the better the range matches it.

Two interfaces, one AI

Conversational search or a browsable catalogue

PartsFinder365 is offered as two interfaces: a conversational chat on its own, or the Catalogue, where a browsable parts list and the AI-assisted chat work in the same view. The same AI and the same accuracy run behind both, on desktop and on mobile.

  • Search by registration number, VIN, part name or OE number
  • Categories, assembly diagrams and hotspots to pick a part directly from the picture
  • Price, availability and delivery time from several suppliers in one view
  • Shopping cart, ordering and per-supplier order confirmation
  • Service parts by mileage and a printable service quote
PartsFinder365 chat: search by registration number, VIN, OE number or part name

Digital Twin

A digital twin of the Finnish vehicle parc

Every vehicle lives in our system as a digital twin. Every search is anchored to the vehicle’s exact type approval and the correct OE numbers, not to estimates or generalisations. This makes it possible to plan the parts range according to the real vehicle parc, also regionally.

  • VIN-specific compatibility, not just model level
  • Vehicle equipment data narrows the variants: brake size, damping, lights, transmission
  • Cross-reference of OE numbers to aftermarket articles and supersession chains
  • Demand data from the real vehicle parc to support purchasing and stocking decisions

Study 2026

Why catalogue data alone is not enough

We compared 52,231 aftermarket articles against the reference values of the same OE number, run against a digital twin of the Finnish vehicle parc. One in five articles deviated from the reference value and one in three lacked sufficient data. When the correct part is chosen from catalogue data alone, the error is structural rather than human.

FAQ

Questions and answers

What is PartsFinder365?

PartsFinder365 is an AI-assisted spare parts search and range optimisation platform for automotive professionals, developed by DropGear Oy Ab. The user describes in their own words which part is needed, and the system identifies the vehicle, finds the correct part and checks availability from several sources.

Who is PartsFinder365 for?

For parts wholesalers and distributors who want to sell more accurately and stock according to real demand, and for workshops, parts retailers, car dealers and body shops that order parts every day.

How does search by registration number work?

The registration number is looked up in the official vehicle register, which returns the VIN and basic details. The VIN is then used to retrieve the exact model, engine variant and equipment from manufacturer-specific databases, and only then does the search move on to parts. Finnish, Swedish and Estonian registration numbers are recognised.

Where do price and availability come from?

Candidate parts are retrieved from manufacturer-specific parts catalogues and from several aftermarket suppliers. Price, stock level and delivery time are shown in real time next to the offered parts.

Which languages does the service support?

Finnish, Swedish and English. Colloquial expressions and messages with Nordic characters are recognised as well. Users can define their own synonym dictionary, and the system learns from user corrections.

How does PartsFinder365 integrate with existing systems?

The platform is cloud-based and requires no hardware or software investments. Orders, customers and products can be synchronised with an ERP system (for example AutoFutur), and invoicing works with Finvoice, Peppol or email invoices, or by card payment.

What does it cost?

Pricing depends on the scope of the service and the number of users and is agreed per customer. Book a demo and we will go through your needs and make an offer.
